Red Tape Reduction Task Force

The purpose of this task force is to provide the Duluth city council with information and recommendations that will reduce red tape and make it easier for entrepreneurs to establish businesses in Duluth. The goal of this task force is to produce recommendations which will promote business development and job growth in the city of Duluth.  This task force will be made up of seven members, including an architect, a developer, a contractor, a representative from the building trades, a representative from the Duluth Chamber of Commerce, a small business owner with 25 or less employees and a Duluth citizen-at-large.

The application deadline to submit an application serve on this task force is September 8th at 5:00pm.  After that you will be contacted within the next two weeks with the decision on who will serve on the task force.  Thank you for your interest in serving our community!

Task Force Timeline is as follows:

  • Application Deadline: September, 8th, 2017
  • Task Force members chosen by: September 25th, 2017
  • Monthly meetings* begin in October 2017, Task Force to determine best day to meet. 
    • *The Task Force may decide to meet more than once a month.
  • Task Force final recommendations to City Council by: End of April 2018*
    • *The Task Force may request an extension.
